Touch Typing for Upper KS2
As KS2 children approach the end of their Primary School Years it can be an excellent opportunity for them to learn to touch type. Touch Typing can help all children but is especially useful for children with difficulties in the areas of handwriting and spelling. Learning to type with speed enables children to produce work of a high presentation standard as well as providing scaffolds for spelling and grammar. The BBC programme entitled 'dance mat' is a fun way to learn to type correctly. Children can use this programme at home through a pc, laptop or a device with attached qwerty keyboard.
