The great St. Brigid's Bake off!!!
There is so much learning involved in baking so rest assured that when you down pencils after a morning of 'school work' and pick up a bag of flour, your child is really gaining from the experience! Cooking with children provides practical experience of key skills such as reading, following directions and weighing. Cooking strengthens fine motor development, hand eye coordination as well as Maths and Science skills. Children who take part in cooking learn how to be independent, make decisions, follow directions and problem solve. As they read, think, follow through a process and watch the final result they develop confidence and skill. So don't dismiss your chocolate cake creation or batch of scones... You are providing an excellent learning experience for your child... Not to mention the memories â¤ï¸ Feel free to send recipes or photos of your junior masterchef! Some recipes attached.
