Our World Around Us topic is 'Celebrations', first we explored our own personal celebrations and those we have in Northern Ireland, then we focused on Chinese New Year celebrations. We explored the similarities and differences between our New Year and China's.. some of us agreed we'd like to celebrate over 15 days with parades and lion dancers. Next we will explore Diwali- the festival of lights.
During structured play, we imagined we were party planners, we thought about what the venue would look like, the decorations, the colours, what food, games etc. we would need to have to make each celebration special.
