I love the website for finding out information throughout the week! It is also great for the environment, saving paper, which is great!

Last week a man came into our school called David. He helped us program a robot on a laptop! I really enjoyed the programming and hope to see David in the future helping us program more difficult structures

Yesterday in school there was a man who came into the school and did a coding/ I.C.T workshop with KS2, the digital leaders and a family workshop as well. KS2 got a 45 minute session to program a Boebot with laptops and try get our robots to go around a track. We had to get into pairs of two for this with one of our friends. We had to make sure our robots didn't crash into any houses or drive off any bridges. We are sorry to say most people failed this test!!!!! Very few people got their robot to get the whole way around the track (me and my partner didn't though!) but it was still a great experience and was a lot of fun and we could all have a good laugh when one of the robots kept driving off the bridge and falling into the river!!! Then there was an afterschool workshop for all of our school digital leaders (available to view in the pupil area of our website). At this we got into groups of two or three and we used different robots called M-BOTS. They were a bit more advanced and could go VERY fast. They could also sing, dance and light up. The digital leaders had to try get their robots to do a full square. I am very grateful to say our school has purchased some M-BOTS which the digital leaders will use to teach teachers and younger pupils and students how to use the M-BOTS. After that there was a family workshop in which parents and younger and older brothers and sisters got to come in to school and code robots for a full hour. Everyone had a great time and I look forward to our school doing more stuff like this in the future. There are pictures available to view in the news section of the parent area on our school website.

I really enjoyed the ICT workshop with David. We used coding to control little robots. Then there was an after school club for Digital Leaders workshop and we got to use more advanced robots called M-BOTS. We got to code these using the computers. They could do very cool things like sing and dance and they could drive VERY fast. The great news is our school has purchased some M-BOTS. Older classes will use these and then show teachers and younger students how to use them too. I think the workshop was a great idea and hope the school can do more in the future.

Yesterday a gentleman called David from Sentinus came to do I.C.T and coding with the digital leaders from 3:15 - 4:15pm.  I thought it was great fun. Although my partner and I got far along the track with our robot we didn't get to the end! It was all for fun so there were no winners or losers!
